Privacy Policy

Handwriting to Text AI (“the app”, “we”, “us”) converts photographs of handwritten pages into editable text. This policy explains what we handle, for how long, and what we never do. If anything here is unclear, contact us at dev.nomantariq@gmail.com.

The short version

  • ✓Your scans are sent over an encrypted connection and are not stored on our servers.
  • ✓Your documents and extracted text live in the app's history on your own device.
  • ✓We never sell your data and never use your handwriting to train models.
  • ✓You can use the free plan without an account or an email address.

1. Information we handle

Images you scan

When you scan or upload a page, the image is transmitted to our recognition service over TLS, processed, and discarded as soon as the extracted text is returned to your device. We do not keep a copy, do not index it, and do not use it for model training.

Extracted text

The recognised text is saved only in the app's local history on your device. Deleting a document in History removes it permanently. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Diagnostics

We collect anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage counts (for example, how many scans failed) to keep the app working. These contain no page images and no extracted text, and cannot be linked back to you.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We receive a subscription status; we never see your card number, billing address, or store account credentials.

2. Permissions we ask for

Camera access is used only while you are scanning. Photo library access is used only to select the images you pick. File access is used only for a document you choose to upload. Denying any of these leaves the rest of the app working.

3. Service providers

Handwriting recognition and translation run on third-party AI infrastructure acting as our processor under contract. They may process an image or text string only to return a result, and are not permitted to retain it or use it for their own purposes. Apple and Google act as independent processors for payments and crash reporting.

4. Your rights

Because we do not keep your scans, most data-subject requests are resolved on your own device: delete any document from History, or uninstall the app to remove everything. For anything else — access, correction, restriction, or a complaint — write to dev.nomantariq@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, the GDPR or CCPA may give you additional rights, including the right not to have personal information sold. We do not sell personal information.

5. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and change the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
